The forum brings together the leaders of both developed and developing countries from every continent to discuss financial and socioeconomic issues.

Requirements

The client wanted to test their system capacity to handle concurrent users during peak load hours. Identifying performance issues and eliminating them on priority was also the prime concern. Their entire infrastructure was also to be tested for reliability and recoverability in case of power failure.

Challenges Involved

• Ensuring that infrastructure can recover from power failures by utilizing backup batteries.
• Ensuring that network bandwidth is enough to handle estimated traffic.
• Ensuring that infrastructure can recover from network failure
• Verifying different algorithms in the router to get the best reliable performance
• End-to-end testing of all points of failure.

Our Approach & Solutions 

• Load Testing– We identified the best load balancing method for the system that will bring the best performance and reliability. We also optimized the load balancing between multiple data centers.
• Firewall Testing- We reconfigured the firewall to make sure it would not cause performance degradation. It required several rounds of traffic generation and also tuning firewall settings.
• Storage Testing– We reconfigured the storage to allow the best performance and reliability with  RAID (Different storage array combinations). We also ensured that infrastructure is available even if one of the storage devices gets removed. We also verified that reliable backup is in place and restore time is also within agreed times.
• Power Testing– We tested the entire infrastructure for power failures and ensured that necessary measures were taken for quick recovery.
